Getting started with branding
For a few years, Mandy had a vision to create a fun, welcoming youth center in her community and after securing a location, the vision was finally becoming a reality! She reached out to Witt and Company because she needed support in reining in all the ideas and wanted to stay true to her values, and not get wrapped up in the people pleasing.
Brand strategy and design
Before we even started, Mandy had an idea for a logo but wasn’t sure if it would fit once we nailed down the strategy and gained clarity on the visual direction.
So, our strategy began with identifying the ideal client. Mandy was in a unique situation in that the youth center is focused on attracting a younger crowd, however she also needed to get buy-in from the parents. Which meant the brand needed to be attractive to youth AND their parents.
We then moved into how she wanted the brand to be experienced and came up with a safe, warm, playful and organic brand that feels like a home away from home for the community.
These two pieces really guided the overall visual design. After reviewing the three concepts (one of which was her original idea) and getting feedback from her kiddos, we decided to move forward with a brand identity that leaned more into the organic/natural aesthetic.
Brand values: Stand firm in faith • Honor your family • Gather community • Play • Value creation
Brand voice + communication style: Approachable, friendly and welcoming
